"Four new CDs and the first two concert DVDs accompany the 2009/2010 K&K Philharmonic season. So far the Austrian symphony orchestra enjoys a reputation of first-class musical interpretations across 16 European countries. The abbreviation "K&K" (kaiserlich-koniglich, meaning imperial-royal) also refers to the initials of the orchestra's founders Larissa and Matthias Georg Kendlinger - under his direction the ensemble gives over 100 performances each year, at venues such as the Auditorio Madrid and Vienna's Musikverein, in the concert houses of Oslo and Berlin, the Tonhalle halls in Dusseldorf and Zurich, to name but a few. Despite all scepticism, Kendlinger's eyes reveal joy and pride: For 15 years now "DaCapo" - his private "culture business" - has been flourishing, which proves that in times of econmic hardship, social and cultural disassembly, in which mergers and the threat of closures of cultural establishments are not uncommon, things really can be different."
