Da Capo Austria was founded in 1994 as a private classical music marketing firm by Matthias Georg Kendlinger. In the summer of 2002, Kendlinger created his own symphony orchestra, the K&K Philharmoniker – a group of seventy musicians who perform around 100 concerts across Europe each year. Following the success of the K&K Philharmoniker, Kendlinger formed the K&K Opera choir in 2003. An accomplished professional musician and producer, Kendlinger, who is described as an “autodidact” (self-taught) on his personal website, made his conducting debut in 2004.
