Reinhold Moritsevich Glière was a teacher of Sergey Prokofiev. In fact, he was the teacher who encouraged Prokofiev to compose. Prokofiev had to compose little pieces and to perform them in front of his family. And this early teacher-pupil-relationship became a lifelong friendship which lasted until Prokofiev's death in 1953.
Esther Nyffenegger, cello, and Milana Chernyavska, piano, are two personalities who came together to record these quite unknown works and let them enfold through their sensible and precise interpretation.
