MANUSHAN is one of the most splendid young Iranian acoustic jazz ensembles.
'Beyond the vision' is their first cd release, produced in Tehran between 2007 and 2009.

Manushan are introducing themselves:

'We are a young Iranian ensemble, but our music stems from the most diverse musical influences which contain all types of music.

These include flamenco, jazz manouche, azari, fiddler, Persian folk music as well as our experiences in the Tehran Symphony Orchestra. Ultimately, our music stands for itself. Like a child which you try to raise, but which then goes its own way.

Manush (manoush, manouch or manouche) is an Indo-Iranian name, used in historical Persian books like BON-DA-HESH, SHAH-NAMEH and in ancient Indian VEDAS.

The word's root is old Persian language (awesta) and sanskrit, both being sub-groups of Indo-Aryan language. MANUSH has several meanings: heavenly temperament, innate spirit, bright quintessence, human being.'
