The release of 'My Oracle Lives Uptown' on 180g vinyl represents an exciting new partnership between Linn, the world’s leading LP player manufacturer, and William Orbit, the leading pioneer in the Electronica genre.
'My Oracle Lives Uptown' is William Orbit's eighth album, and his signature sound - sleek and lush, but leaving a cool slipstream in its wake - is immediately recognisable.
The double 180g vinyl was mastered at Abbey Road by Geoff Pesche, a highly experienced engineer and pressed at Pallas in Germany, a partner carefully chosen by Linn and considered to be the best.
The vinyl features new, original artwork, a beautifully designed 8-page booklet and is presented in a gatefold sleeve.
William Orbit is a Grammy Award-winning producer and composer, whose 2000 crossover album Barber's Adagio for Strings vastly increased his fanbase.
William Orbit has been in high demand as a producer and remixer for well over a decade, most famously working with Madonna on her 1998 album Ray Of Light, as well as U2, Blur, Britney Spears, Sugababes, Pink and scores of other artists.
His music has been played on all major UK radio stations and in October 2009, Orbit took part in the BBC Radio 3 ‘Free Thinking Festival’.
'My Oracle Lives Uptown' is William Orbit's most immediate album. It's so subtly layered that it only reveals itself fully after a number of plays, whilst his idiosyncratic vision gives his music a curiously timeless feel.
